A visit to Al Aqsa Mosque
On 26th August 2012, I visited Al Aqsa-Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. Here are some photos I took there..
I took this photo at night from my sisters house. On the horizon you can see the golden dome..
This is Al-Aqsa Mosque
This is the Dome of the Rock, It was built by the Ummayad Calliph Abdul Malik Ibn Marwan in AD 692. It rises 35 meters above the Noble Rock
In this photo you can see Al-Aqsa Mosque from the inside of The Dome of the Rock
This one was taken in the cave
From here , it is said that prophet Muhammad { peace be upon him } ascended to sky
Part of the dome from inside and here you can see the colourful tiles and the inscriptions from the Holy Quran..
